Reaching out far beyond its domestic boundaries, Inha University always makes its top priority the globalization of education, research and administration. With its continuous efforts to further promote international relations and collaborations, Inha University has established a partnership with around 100 universities and research institutes from across the world. More than 1,000 international students and scholars join the campus as a part of dynamic and diverse Inha community with various purposes of studying for degrees or cultural exchange, acquiring language training, teaching classes and doing research. Annually, 500 or more Inha students visit foreign countries under various study abroad programs such as exchange student, dual degree, language training, overseas field trips, international research and volunteer projects.
With the extended international collaboration and exchange, Inha University seeks to build a more globalized campus with many talented youth invited from around the world, to encourage joint research and cooperation among international researchers, to invite world-renowned faculty members to enhance the excellence in teaching and research, and to improve educational structure and student services by providing various curricula of global standard, programs of credit transfer and dual degrees with foreign universities, and internationally accessible e-learning systems. Inha University will also make efforts to obtain international accreditation in its primary fields of engineering, business administration and logistics.
Global U8 Consortium
Responding to the growing internationalization of higher education market with more focused partnerships, Inha University has developed networks with globally-recognized universities in commemoration of its 50th anniversary in April 2004. Through the collaboration and strategic alliance, Inha University witnessed many successes and progress in its internationalization to set a global standard for education, research and administration especially in the four concentration areas of global logistics, business administration, marine affairs and advanced technologies of IT, BT and NT.
Inha University held the position of Secretariat for the 1st three years with President Seoung-Yong Hong serving as the Chair of the GU8 Council of Presidents. Now the 2nd period of the Consortium has been launched with the new chair university, the University of Rhode Island, as of April 2007. A select group of 8 leading universities from across the world are now aligned together and new members are welcome to join.

 Inha University conferred an honorary degree of doctor of Philosophy in Law on Chief Justice of the State of Hawaii Ronald T. Y. Moon ; the first Korean-American who has ever been appointed to the post of Chief Justice.
